Koji Kraft speaks on tweaks and modifying several components on his bike.
When Koji Kraft was asked about how he modifies his bike, initially he replied “I don’t really do anything special to it.” But, upon closer inspection the little mods presented themselves.
The first thing that we noticed was that Koji runs grip doughnuts inside the flange of his grips between the grip and his brake levers. “Oh yeah, that. That keeps your thumbs from getting cut. That’s a good tip.”
We didn’t have to look far as his Front brake cable has dual adjusting barrels threaded into a piece of metal pipe set just above the stem bolt. Koji says, “That allows you to adjust your front brakes without having to bend down to the caliper. That’s a good tip too.”
He also has axle pegs that are cut off at about an inch in length on the front right side which he says “…are just there to protect my axles, but you can do lip tricks even with it that short.”
“Other than that, my bike is pretty normal. I like to tape my cables down so they don’t flop around.”
See Koji, you do modify your bike.
