Breakfast in Berlin:
Skateboard Vert Prelims Recap
Nestled beneath the historic and monolithic monument known as the Brandenburg Gate, vertical maestros from around the globe congregate for the preliminary round of the LG Action Sports World Tour Berlin. Mathias Ringstrom is a really good skateboarder . . . and he ranked first today. Mathias had a full pull, which included a Cab heelflip, a kick flip indy, stalefish 360 and tweaked out aerials.

Juergen Horrwarth: Hometown Hero!:
Skateboard Vert Finals Recap With storms hovering ever so close to the Brandenburg Gate (site of the Berlin LG Action Sports World Tour) through most of the day, it was anyone’s guess whether the vert skateboard finals would happen at all. Mathias Ringstrom, who found himself in first after yesterday’s prelims, was looking skyward shaking what looked to be a primitive rain-making stick as the prelim results would have stood as finals in the event of a rain-out.

Beer, Balls, Berlin:
BMX Vert Finals Recap It was a beautiful day in Berlin…I mean it was great for a couple of hours. Today at the LG Action Sports World Tour, rain and wind were threatening all day. The ramp was dried off and Berlin witnessed some radical vertical action.

With occasional rain over the weekend, the schedule got compressed and the prelims became the finals. Have you ever been to Berlin? Do you ride a BMX bike? If you haven’t been to Berlin yet, you should plan a visit soon. It’s a beautiful city with many talented BMXers and tons of great riding spots. Everyone is so friendly and today’s spectators were proof of that.

The Battle At Brandenburg Gate:
Inline Vert Finals Recap
I’m in Berlin. It’s pretty sweet here. Lots of history and cool architecture everywhere. I mean, just 17 years ago, the Scorpions’ power ballad “Wings Of Change” was the soundtrack as the wall came down and history was made. History was made again today, and this time, the soundtrack was Guns and Roses’ Night Train (as requested by Shane Yost and played by super-DJ Pat Sweeney)

Berlin Bacchanal:
Inline Street Finals Recap Nicolas Schopfer was our king of the street today. The Swiss skater had the cleanest run out of everyone. His highlights included a 360, negative makio down the ledge, acid soul and a 270 backside farfegnugen. The 19 year old is stoked to say the least, capturing his first victory of the season.
