The first thing to know about a contest like this one is that it’s a judge’s dream . . . as well as nightmare! Every competitor knows what is needed to beat out the last guy and every so often they do what is needed. This was one such situation. The skateboarding that went down in the arena today was truly a testament to passion, skill and determination.

V Spells Victory for Vieira:
Skateboard Street Finals Recap

Birmingham, England was the site for Daniel Vieira's second of two back-to-back wins in the LG Action Sports World Tour street finals. Vieira was untouchable as he skated through two flawless runs. Although his first run was already enough to secure the win, Daniel upped the ante on his second run by adding a kickflip frontside grab and a mammoth 360 flip to an already technically stuffed run.

English riders Jamie Bestwick and Simon Tabron have been competing against one another since the 1980's and these top international stars were the focus at this event. Simon pulled two awesome runs together - opposite airs, smooth variations at height, a mid-run flair an alley-oop no-handed 540 and even a 900 in his second run. Jamie was the last rider on the ramp. Wicked Webb Whips To Win In Birmingham:
BMX Street Finals Recap

First rider to step on the podium was Ryan Nyquist (USA). He’s a trick machine and opens that throttle as soon as he rolls in with back-to-back amazing moves. Second went to Tobias Wicke (Germany). He had his own moves that included a no-handed fronty over the box and a tailwhip drop to flat bank. And first place went to Mark Webb (UK) who makes everything look so easy. Make sure to catch the LG Birmingham round on TV and look out for Mark.

Thousands of British action sports fans poured into the NEC Arena to see legends of vert, Mat Hoffman and Tony Hawk ride the ASA ultra-ramp and show why they have become bona-fide superstars. It was a stellar afternoon for the kids of Birmingham who got to witness one of the rarest of all action sports sightings – a Mat and Tony doubles run.

Tony Hawk & Mat Hoffman Demos - Day 2

Mat and Tony wasted no time throwing down big tricks. In Tony’s first run, he landed a clean mctwist with no warmup. Mat followed suit by doing a 540 – flair – tailwhip combo in a row, also with no warm up. The bleachers inside the NEC arena were packed with fans, and the louder they got, the more intense Mat and Tony got. It was run after run of amazing tricks.
