LG World Championships of FMX Takes over Fairplex Park
on September 30th
The world's biggest names in Freestyle Motocross are headed back to L.A. for the richest and final FMX championship event of 2006. With more than $100,000 in prize money at stake, the LG World Championships of Freestyle Motocross (FMX) will take center stage on September 30th on the Grandstand Infield of the L.A. County Fair.
Barely a decade old, the high-octane sport of FMX draws fans by the droves, uniquely combining two international obsessions: motorsports and daredevil thrills. Like NASCAR, these riders, all of whom have already qualified for this World Championship event, have rapidly become mainstream household names, like X Games gold medalist Travis Pastrana, three-time World Champion Nate Adams, former IFMA Series Champion Kenny Bartram, Mike Metzger, Drake McElroy and Jim McNeil.
Produced by ASA Events, the world's largest producer of action sports competition and lifestyle events and television programming, the LG Action World Championships of FMX will feature the world's 15 best pro FMX riders in head-to-head competition. The event will crown the undisputed 2006 World Champion, with the winner taking home the lion's share of the $100,000 pro purse. The event will be televised nationally via prime time weekend programming on CBS, with additional coverage through Outdoor Life Network (OLN) and TV distribution to over 140 countries worldwide.
Admission to the LG World Championships of FMX is only $17.50 (general) and $20.00 (box). Tickets are on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets in the Los Angeles area. Tickets are also available online by visiting Ticketmaster.com. This event is expected to sell out, so fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance!
